Soulful Sunday – Guided Meditation

IMG_1140

For those of you who already enjoy the benefits of meditation and for those interested in trying it, I wanted to let you know that Deepak Chopra and Oprah are offering a free, 21 day series of guided meditations called “Manifesting True Success.” Each meditation lasts about 20 minutes and will help you start your day on the right track. This series begins on Monday, March 16th and you can sign up for it by going to oprah.com and scroll down and click on Oprah and Deepak. There’s even a free meditation on this site that you can listen to before you sign up to get a feel for what you can expect. There’s nothing you have to buy or prepare for in advance. You just need a comfortable spot to sit in and, if you like, you can wear ear buds. I do this, because it eliminates outside sounds and I find it very relaxing.

I hope you enjoy this and that it brings you the same peace it brings me. Have a wonderful week – you deserve it.

With love,

Susan
xoxo

Thank you for the heads up on this! I have only been successful at meditating occasionally, and hope that having this many days of guided meditation will help to make it a habit for me. For anybody else signing up for this, I wasn’t having any luck finding it on the webpage you give (too many menus!), but easily found the link on oprah.com. Thanks again!

Thanks for the heads up, Melodee! I’m going to edit my post right now. I find the guided meditations to be very satisfying for me. Hope you get something out of them too!

This is interesting…I’ve been mediating for 20 minutes every day for about 4 years and although my subjective experience of it is that I am rubbish at it(!), if I stop, even for a few days, my sleeping goes to pot. I also think it has had lots of other subtle effects on me.

So, agree to commit to the full 21 days this time, Jan. I know you take time for everyone else, so do this just for you. It really gives your spirit a lift!

I may check this out and how interesting to see it. ( have been reading a little on Zen and doing a following the breath meditation. I quickly found that if I started with a little music / chanting in the background it helped me to relax faster…boy oh boy my mind sure is noisy :)

I have been meditating (or trying to!) for years and I find it really makes a difference in my daily life. I have done the Oprah and Deepak meditations before, but like Jan, I have never finished one. Maybe knowing that you ladies are all doing it, too, I will be motivated to complete the full program. Off to sign up! Thanks Susan!!

Thank you, Wendy. I did Day 1 this morning and I feel wonderful. Today’s centering thought is “I create my success from within.” I love it!

Hi Tracey – I hope you’re going to join us for this 21 day experience. It’s all about feeling good and doing something nice for ourselves.

I have just signed up as thankfully it’s available to UK residents too. I have tried meditation in the past and have found it to be very helpful with my anxiety so I am looking forward to trying this series too. Thank you for letting us know about it.

Hi Vickie – I’m so glad you signed up. I have a friend who suffers from anxiety and she found meditation to be very helpful. She also limited herself to one cup of coffee in the morning and she said that helped too. Thanks for stopping by.

I spent the first hour or so of each day in what I call my Quiet Time. I read a little of the Bible, pray and journal. I have daily journals going back to the 1970’s. This is my time to organize my day and get centered in Christ. It is a necessity for me.

Hmm. I’m not sure what’s causing that, Monique. Do you want to sign up again? I recently switched mail carriers and that could be what’s causing the problem.
